Embret Svestad-Bårdseng, author of a race full of panache, finished fourth in the Piccolo Lombardia U23 in Oggiono.

I am disappointed, in the heat of the moment, very disappointed even to finish fourth in this Tour of Lombardy Espoirs. I wanted to win this classic, or at least make a podium, but when I found myself in the group of four on the final it was not the ideal position for me. It was my last race of the season here, I was in very good shape, and I really wanted to win this classic. It is still a great performance 4th in this beautiful classic, but I really wanted to thank the whole ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team through an even better result than this one.

We wrapped up this Saturday on the continental level at the Piccolo Lombardia Espoirs, and Sunday, on the domestic calendar with Paris-Tours, the very first season of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS continental development team. My assessment is as follows: after a difficult start to the year, we managed to get everything back in line, and in all the difficult races we took part in, we managed to respond, by multiplying the top 5s. We only won two times this year, but physically and collectively we are there, as here in Lombardy where the best U23s with a climber profile were at the start, once again we are in front, with the small quartet of riders who fought for victory.
