Mathis Le Berre claims his first WT top 10

Mathis Le Berre and Simon Guglielmi were part of the day's breakaway and crossed the line in 10th and 11th positions respectively at the summit of the Puerto de Ancares. In doing so, the young Breton rider scored his first top 10 finish in a World Tour event.

Another breakaway in this Tour of Spain for me and this time it was the right one. Today's terrain wasn't necessarily favourable to my qualities but I really wanted to go for a top 10 finish in this Tour of Spain. I've given myself the means since the start of the season for this type of race and today it paid off. I gave it my all and I can be proud of myself. Finding myself with Simon Guglielmi in the breakaway was a great moment. He did me a big favour by taking the lead with Van Aert.

Une nouvelle échappée dans ce Tour d'Espagne pour moi et cette fois-ci, c'était la bonne. Le terrain d'aujourd'hui n'était pas forcément favorable à mes qualités mais j'avais vraiment envie d'aller chercher un top 10 sur ce Tour d'Espagne. Je me suis donné les moyens depuis le début de la saison pour ce type de course et aujourd'hui ça a payé. J'ai tout donné et je peux être fier de moi. Me retrouver avec Simon Guglielmi dans l'échappée a été un grand moment. Il m'a rendu un grand service en prenant la tête avec Van Aert.

It was a great stage with Mathis Le Berre in the top 10 and Simon Guglielmi in 11th place. Both of them were in the right breakaway. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team has been active since the start of the Tour of Spain. For his third breakaway, Mathis has been rewarded, as has Simon, who has been giving his all since the start of this Vuelta. It's very encouraging. Cristián is still 14th in the provisional overall classification. He continues to be in contact with the best.
