2 hilly classics to come in Northern Italy

The Coppa Agostoni on Sunday and the Coppa Bernocchi on Monday will open a final block of Italian races for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS World Tour team.

I've taken part in the Coppa Agostoni twice. Compared to this time last year, I feel I'm in better condition, so I hope I can do well on this course. We'll have to run intelligently to catch the right groups. We have a great ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team with Kévin Vauquelin, Raúl García Pierna and Ewen Costiou.

The Coppa Agostoni and the Coppa Bernocchi are among my last races of this first season in the colours of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team. I know these two events well, having had some good results there, including a podium last year on the Coppa Bernocchi. I hope to be there again. I've often been close to victory this season and this would be a great opportunity to finish the year in style.

The Coppa Agostoni and the Coppa Bernocchi are similar in that they have a circuit section followed by a return to the start town. Sunday's Coppa Agostoni is no easy ride, with 3,000 metres of ascent over 168 kilometres. It's a course for climbers and runners. I'm thinking of Vincenzo Albanese and Clément Champoussin, our two best cards. The latter won the Giro della Toscana a few weeks ago on a course with a similar configuration. The Coppa Agostoni will also mark Kévin Vauquelin's return to competition after the Grand Prix de Plouay. The following day on the Coppa Bernocchi, the course is a little more accessible to sprinters. You'll have to get over the bumps, but a rider like Jenthe Biermans could still have a chance at the finish. Vincenzo Albanese knows the race very well, having taken 2nd place last season. In these two races, we're going there with the aim of getting a good result to kick off this final block of Italian races of the season.
