Ewen Costiou: "Excited to start again"

Ewen Costiou will be back in Spain for the Clàssica Communitat Valenciana, while Léandre Lozouet will be contesting his first race at the Gran Premio Castellón.

Why did you put the Clàssica Communitat Valenciana on your programme, Ewen? I love racing. Racing after good training sessions like the ones we did this winter with the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, immediately gives you good indicators. That's why the sports management and I made the joint decision that I would launch my 2025 season on the roads of the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana. It's always a great moment at the start of the season when you get your first race number. What are your ambitions? I'd like to see right away where I stand in relation to the others. I want to race, to feel the adrenalin of competition, which is what we train for. How do you feel when you start racing again, Ewen? I'm super excited. But it's just the right kind of excitement, mind you! My aim is to try and make the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS jersey shine straight away. To show it off and to show myself off by getting the best possible result at the end of this Clàssica Communitat Valenciana. The route has also changed this year, and a pass has been added by the organisers, which, as you can imagine, I'm not happy about.

I've had a good winter and I'm going to try and help the team as much as I can for my first race with the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS World Team. We could be looking at a sprint finish on this beautiful GP Castellón course.

The first two races in Spain, the GP Castellón and the Clàssica Communitat Valenciana, offer different courses this year, with the former offering something for both the puncheur-sprinter and the climber-puncher, which is why the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team has been structured around these two types of rider. As for the Clàssica Communitat Valenciana, this year it has added a mountain pass to its programme. It will therefore offer more chances on paper to the climber-puncher.
