I'm looking ahead to Saturday and Lombardy, the great Italian classic along with Milan-San Remo. I'm approaching it in better conditions than last year and I'm motivated. This will be my only participation in a Monument this season, and I'm really keen to show off the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Excalibur jersey on the roads of Lombardy.

We're expecting it to be tough all day, and it could start very early. For us, we'll have to try and anticipate the big battle to hold out as long as possible. It's the last Monument of the season, and one of the last races too. It's going to come down to the legs, but also the mind.

The Lombardy 2024 is no exception to the rule once again, with its 4600 metres of positive ascent over 250 kilometres. We'll be counting on Clément Champoussin with the support of the entire ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team. There are a lot of transition phases, particularly the last one between the Colma di Sormano and San Fermo della Battaglia, which is the toughest difficulty to finish on. But by the time we get there, we'll already have covered 200 kilometres. The shape of the race will also depend on the battle between the big favourites and the creaming off that will take place. For our part, we're going to have to give ourselves the means to be in strategic places, to be together, if we want to go out and get a good result.
