Team ARKEA-B&B HOTELS will be contesting its 3rd consecutive Tour of Spain this season, with the ambition of winning a stage.

2024 will mark the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team's third participation in the Vuelta a España. Since the last Tour de France, a dynamic has been established in the three-week events. It is important that the riders in the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, who will spend the next three weeks on the Iberian roads, continue in this vein. To achieve this, the red and black team at the start of the Vuelta will have to be bold enough to put in some good performances. Solidarity and teamwork are the keys to success for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team in the Vuelta 2024.

The Vuelta a España is one of the three Grand Tours that offers the most space to the rookies, even if in recent seasons more and more of the big leaders have been lining up at the start of this final Grand Tour of the season. We've built the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team with this in mind, by fielding a line-up of adventurers and attacking riders who enjoy this kind of cycling. At the start in Lisbon, the team will also include three Bretons: Mathis Le Berre, Thibault Guernalec and Élie Gesbert. The aim will be to win a stage, as they did in the Tour de France. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team's record in this type of competition is now unblocked, and it's up to the riders to continue to build on it. The best way to achieve this is to race with no ulterior motives, and to be opportunistic.

Elie Gesbert

Élie Gesbert will be taking part in the Vuelta a España for the third year running, says Roger Tréhin. But this year's race is bound to be a little special for him, as he underwent an operation on his iliac artery this season, which kept him out of competition for several weeks. Given the circumstances, Élie's presence in this Vuelta is just a bonus.

Thibault Guernalec

Thibault's qualities as a rouleur need no further demonstration," emphasises Arnaud Gérard. He's also an attacking rider who never hesitates to push forward. A rider who can cope well with hilly stages, Thibault will have carte blanche on the days promised to the baroudeurs.

Simon Guglielmi

Simon Guglielmi knows the Vuelta a España, having already raced it in 2022, notes Arnaud Gérard. A race that favours movement, Simon has often been on the offensive on the hilly stages of this competition. Once again this year, his mission will be to get ahead on the days that are best suited to the more adventurous riders.

Laurens Huys

Laurens Huys will compete in the second Grand Tour of his career, starting in Lisbon on 17 August. The very first one Laurens contested was the Giro in 2023, which he finished in 27th place overall," points out Roger Tréhin. A climber, Laurens' mission will be to shine on stages of this type in this Vuelta a España.

Mathis Le Berre

Mathis will be racing a second Vuelta a España in a row. He needs to use the experience he gained in 2023 to get into the breakaways that could prove winning on stages that match his physical qualities," says Roger Tréhin.

Łukasz Owsian

Lukasz Owsian will be the road captain for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team in this Vuelta," says Arnaud Gérard. His extensive experience, particularly of stage races, will serve the entire ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team well on the Iberian roads.

Michel Ries

Michel Ries will be riding the Giro and Vuelta twice this season," says Roger Tréhin. He finished 25th in the Giro d'Italia. As a climber, Michel has shown great consistency in the three-week events. This season will see him contest his third Vuelta a España, an event he knows well.

Cristián Rodríguez

Cristián Rodríguez, who finished 13th in the Vuelta a España 2023, will be our number one trump card as he attempts to put in a strong performance in the overall classification of his home Tour. He will be able to count on the support of Michel Ries and Laurens Huys in the mountains," says Arnaud Gérard.
