Raúl García Pierna and Nicolas Milesi medals in the time trial of the Spanish and Italian championships

Competing this week in the time trial for their respective championships, Nicolas Milesi and Raúl García Pierna were medalists in the timed event. The first in silver in Italy among the Espoirs, the second in bronze in Spain among the professionals.

I gave everything I had in this time trial. The podium is decided in a handful of seconds. Obviously on the starting ramp, when I start, I'm going for victory. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team supported me on site by providing staff at my disposal, I also wanted to do this for them. Now, it remains a great national podium and I am already looking forward to Sunday for the road race.

There are no regrets to be had today. Raúl had a very good time. On the trajectories, the cadence, the speed, everything was clean. The route suited him well. At the intermediate score, he passes with the second time. The others finished strong. I'm very happy with what he did. He came across a little stronger today. I'm sure he'll reach for this jersey again in years to come.

We are happy with Nicolas Milesi's performance. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team had put in place the means to support him and put him in a good mood. Last year he already finished second. This year, the gap with the first has narrowed. It takes around twenty seconds, over 25 kilometers. Nicolas had a good second part of the time trial. Perhaps he could have done better in the first sector. In the end, it's a great podium for our Development team. Nicolas is Italian vice-champion two years in a row. Hoping that in 2025, he will finally climb to the top step so that it rewards all the work done.
