Emmanuel Houcou to turn pro with ARKEA-B&B HOTELS in 2025
Martinique sprinter Emmanuel Houcou will turn professional with the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team on 1 January 2025.
Emmanuel Houcou:
‘I was immediately interested in the project presented to me by Jean-Christophe Mousssard, Sports Manager of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team. The team is one of the best in France, and it's a team that puts a lot of emphasis on training. I come from the track, where I worked alongside Léonard Cosnier, the team's sporting director, and that obviously helped me in my decision. I can also calmly continue my studies in STAPS at the University of Aix-en-Provence in parallel with my sporting career. I'll be able to work around my schedule, and I know that the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team is keen to maintain this dual project for its riders. I'll be the first rider from Martinique to go professional. Whether I'm the first or not, it's not the most important thing. Above all, it's a childhood dream come true and I hope to make all those who have supported me since I started cycling proud.
Jean-Michel Bourgoin, manager of AVC Aix en Provence:
‘Emmanuel is completing his 3rd season with AVC Aix en Provence. We're delighted with his move to the professionals, and we'll be even prouder if he goes on to make a career for himself. It's a great credit to all our volunteers. We've encouraged him to continue his schooling, it's important that he can continue his studies within the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team.’
