7th place for Arnaud Démare in Dijon

Arnaud Démare took 7th place in Dijon, the finish of stage 6 of the Tour de France. The sprinter from Picardy, who rides for ARKEA-B&B HOTELS, scored his second consecutive top 10 finish on the roads of the Grande Boucle.

I climbed back up at the right moment. I'm well placed at the roundabout in the wheel of the Uno-X. I thought I was on the right train, on the right wheels with 600 metres to go. They were never able to accelerate again and we were overtaken. When it came time to launch, I lacked a bit of speed. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team is committed and present. We're trying every day and we'll keep going. There are still several opportunities for sprints on this Tour.

There was a lot of nervousness and tension leading up to this sprint. Seeing Arnaud being dropped off by his team-mates from the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, being in the wheel of the Uno-X train, it was perfect on paper. After that, the Norwegian team didn't have the throttle to really pull away. It was going fast but not fast enough and in the end it went up on the right-hand side of the road. With that speed deficit, it was unfortunately already over.
