We came here to win and it's frustrating to come so close, even though Sam Benett was very strong. I launched really hard, but I got a bit locked in on the last bend, which forced me to apply the brakes. I've lost some speed, but without that I can surprise my rivals more. Kevin Vauquelin is also doing well (4th). There's now one stage left to try and get a better result (Ewen is currently 3rd in the provisional overall rankings).

Ewen came 3rd in this third stage of the Région Pays de la Loire Tour, with Kévin Vauquelin 4th. The aim was to make the race harder on the climbs of the côte de Montaigu. We did that, but we were one of the few teams to try and dynamise the race, and that wasn't enough to keep the sprinters out. Ewen tried his luck in the final. He was overtaken by Sam Benett in the final metres. This Thursday, on the eve of the finish, Ewen and Kevin occupy 3rd and 5th places in the provisional overall classification.
