Michaela Drummond took 4th place in the Vuelta CV Feminas, an event on the ProSeries circuit, which finished in a sprint in the streets of Valencia.

After the Challenge Mallorca, we debriefed our first bunch sprint to see what adjustments we should make for the next bunch sprint at the Vuelta CV Feminas. Unfortunately, we had to deal with the absence of Marjolein van't Geloof, who was ill and an important part of Michaela Drummond's train. Maurène Trégouët and Emilia Fahlin came back on at the last minute, which was the plan, and they made up for Marjolein's absence. Unfortunately, Michaela got a bit stuck on the inside of the last curve, did 2 sprints and found herself slowed down. Despite everything, 4th place in a ProSeries race is a great result for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team and Michaela. We've had two top 5 finishes in our first two sprints of the season. It's very positive for the future, to know that we have the means to be in the match at this type of finish.

I'm happy with my race today. The whole ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team was solid, first Laura Asencio and Danielle De Francesco and then Maurène Trégouët and Emilia Fahlin in the final. We'd chosen to come back up quite late and the girls positioned me two kilometres from the finish. We were really well placed. I had good legs today, but the line I'd decided to take was closed off by a competitor who came right in front of me in the final metres. So I had to develop my sprint twice. Without that, I think I could have achieved a better result. It's a bit sad not to have been able to count on Marjolein. But that's the way it is. She's a very important element in our train and it's perhaps that one person less that made the difference today too. We can all be satisfied with what we've done. It's a lot of positives for the future.
