Arnaud Démare took 12th place in the BEMER Cyclassics on Sunday in the streets of Hamburg.

The BEMER Cyclassics was fast, and that was tiring. We were there collectively on the Waseberg passages, but even though we still had the manpower in the final, we got a bit lost as we approached the line. That was a shame. After that, there was still an opening, but I put in my effort every kilometre. That meant I couldn't really compete in the sprint, as I had to settle down fifty metres from the line. It was quite a special race. The important thing to remember is that I'm in good condition at the moment, and now it's time to look ahead to the next races.

Team ARKEA-B&B HOTELS responded collectively to the various difficulties of the BEMER Cyclassics. Anthony Delaplace and Alan Riou did a very good job on each climb of the Waseberg, allowing Arnaud Démare and his train to be present at the start of the final lap. Unfortunately, our riders got lost in the final few bends. Arnaud had to find a place for himself and that effort cost him in the final. He is physically present, and could have done much better than 12th in this BEMER Cyclassics, that's for sure.
