The seventh and final stage of Tirenno-Adriatico between Porto Potenza Picena and San Benedetto del Tronto ended, unsurprisingly, in a bunch sprint. Clément Venturini took part in the final sprint and finished 10th on Sunday.

The original plan was to work for Amaury Capiot today. With ten kilometers to go, he didn't feel up to a sprint. We readjusted at the back and I joined in the fight with the other sprinters. This top 10 finish concludes my first month back on the road. Now it's on to the next races.

I appreciated Kévin's burst of pride - it's always good for the head, which is why I let him do it. He was hurt yesterday in terms of his self-esteem, and he enjoyed himself with Van Der Poel up front. You have to let it go sometimes, because that's what riders need. It's a temperamental reaction that I appreciate. The sprint was planned for Amaury, but he couldn't take it. We switched to Clément Venturini in the final and he was immediately in a position to take it. I'd like to thank him for that. He's going for a top 10, in contact with most of the world's best sprinters, which means we can finish this Tirrreno-Adriatico on a high note.
