Present in the breakaway of the day, Cristian Rodriguez finished 5th in the 6th stage of the Tour of Spain, contested between Jerez de la Frontera and Yunquera. A result that allows him to move up to 6th place in the general classification.

It was a big day at the front. I finished 5th. I would have liked to do better because that's the goal in every race. I felt good and I took the right breakaway. Two riders went off, including Ben O'Connor. Behind them, we looked at each other and it didn't really go well. Too bad, but that's how it is. I took my responsibilities and did my best. I'm happy with my race. It's only the first week. I'm going to focus on recovering well for the rest. Like today, we'll try to seize the right opportunities in the coming days as soon as they present themselves."

On this 6th stage of the Tour of Spain, the second mountain stage, our plan was to take the breakaway to fight for the victory. This is what we managed to do by placing Cristian at the front. He was well supported by the ARKEA - B&B HOTELS team. In the group of 30, which broke away before the first climb of the day, he was accompanied by Thibault and Simon. Afterwards Cristian had a very good stage. There are no regrets for the victory because Ben O'Connor is simply the best today. We can be satisfied with our day with 5th place at the finish and 6th place in the general classification.
