The Niçois has signed three second places in the space of a week. Victory is not far away.

It was a tough race, marked by extreme heat. My teammates did a great job all day, to put me at the foot of the difficulties, to refuel me… I really want to thank them. When we set off as 4 on the Pike hill, I thought it would work. Unfortunately a group came back to us on the flat, the victory was decided in a sprint and maybe I missed out on first place because of a positioning error in the final. It’s a shame but I’m happy to find some sensations again and to confirm this good dynamic started at the Arctic Race of Norway

Clément was strong today and the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team worked well for him. He had been designated sole leader this morning at the briefing, and held his own. In the last difficulty, he broke away with 3 other riders, it came back to them afterwards and the victory was decided in a sprint. There was a bit of frustration to come so close to victory but I want to remember the great work of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team on a race where the temperature exceeded 40 degrees this Sunday.
