The breakaway that Mathis Le Berre and I were in was a good move, I understood shortly before the hour mark that being a group of 10-12 riders we could hope to go far, or even play for the victory. The first three were really strong, I saw that quickly. I tried to save myself as much as possible for the final. But when they came out in a sprint on the last climb of the Pigeonnière, Mathis and I stalled. We then gave it our all to try to get back to the leading trio, we almost made the connection.
