Emmanuel Hubert: “A historic tour for ARKEA and B&B HOTELS”

After three weeks spent between Florence and Nice, it is now time to take stock of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS training. The floor is given to Emmanuel Hubert and Kévin Vauquelin.

My first Tour de France will remain anchored in my memory. I came to discover this event, the biggest cycling race in the world, and on the second day I won the Bologna stage. It was a great moment for me, but also for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team which had its first success on the roads of the Tour de France. I was focused on a few stages of this Tour without having the ambition to compete for the general classification, but I wanted to measure myself against the best in the time trials. I placed sixth in the first timed meeting of the Tour in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in contact with the very best in the world in the discipline. I come away from this Tour with a lot of lessons learned, validated learning, I know that I still have a lot of room for improvement to find. But what I achieved during these three weeks pushes me even more to move forward.

This Tour de France marked the history built for years around the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, with this stage success obtained in style by Kévin Vauquelin on the roads of Bologna. Few teams can claim stage success in this largest event in the world, it is the reward for the investment of everyone, riders, staff, but also for our partners ARKEA- and B&B HOTELS. These historic moments will be remembered for life. Beyond Kévin Vauquelin, I also remember the spirit of cohesion of everyone during these three weeks. The desire implemented, notably in the sprints around Arnaud Démare, the advent of Raúl García Pierna who was a great revelation and who demonstrated very good regularity during the three weeks spent between Florence and Nice. Without forgetting the beautiful 4th place in Bologna from Cristián Rodriguez. The only downside will obviously remain the violent fall suffered by Amaury Capiot in Pau, which unfortunately sidelined our rider for several weeks, causing serious harm to him and us on a sporting level.
