Amandine Fouquenet closes in on the world's top 10 in Dublin

12th in the first round in Antwerp, Amandine Fouquenet took 11th place in the 2nd round of the Cyclo-cross World Cup in Dublin, Ireland.

In the Elite Men's category, Clément Venturini came 13th. Also of note was the 3rd place of young Canadian Rafaelle Carrier in the Junior Women's category, in her first race with the material and logistical support of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team.

I started in the second row because of my place in Antwerp. That gave me a better start. I managed to climb back up to eighth place with two laps to go. But other competitors came back on me. I finished 11th and I'm pretty satisfied. I'm getting a better feeling race after race, and I'm getting closer and closer to the world's top 10.

The start of the race was a bit chaotic, with a lot of counter-attacks, and then there was a crash as we passed the planks. The first lap was a bit turbulent. After that, I rode my race at my own pace, which was still quite high. I tried to be technically clean as the laps went by. I finished 13th in my first cyclo-cross World Cup round of the season, in Dublin. Amandine is 11th, which is good for the team. Soon, the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will be on the road for its December training camp to catch up with friends, and then it's back to the World Cup rounds.
