Embret Svestad-Bårdseng finished 5th in the queen stage of the Tour of Valle d'Aosta in the Breuil-Cervinia resort. After 5 days in the mountains, Louis Rouland finished 7th overall.

I did my best today on this difficult stage. We had Louis Rouland well placed in the general classification. I attacked because stage victory was within my grasp and that meant Louis wasn't riding in the group behind. Obviously, we came here to win, but the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team can be satisfied with this good overall result.

It was a day of mixed results. We tried by putting Louis Rouland in the breakaway. The day's weather was fantastic. Pierre was there too, but unfortunately he fell on a descent. He's back on the road but he'll be having tests in the next few days. We really wanted to energise the race by having riders at the front. It all came together in the 2nd part of the stage. On the last climb, Embret attacked to win the stage. He had more freedom than the others because of his place in the general classification. He gave it his all. Louis hung on. He finished 7th in the final overall classification, which is a good performance. We won the team classification at the Tour of Valle d'Aosta, and I think that reflects the level of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team in a race of this calibre. We're right where we should be. Jean-Loup Fayolle also crashed today. Without that, he might have been close to the top 10. The whole group can regain confidence in what they've produced today and over the last five days.
