Kévin Vauquelin perfectly launched the Tour of the Basque Country for the ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team by setting the 6th time in the inaugural time trial.

I am happy with this sixth place in the opening time trial of this Tour of the Basque Country. There was a very good field at the start and I am very close to the top 5. My result is initially reassuring before approaching a week of racing. It also shows my regularity, since the start of the season, in this very specific exercise. The work done personally and with the ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team pays off. The week is off to a good start. There are a lot of positives to take from this start to get off to a good start for the future.

With this sixth place, Kevin confirms his Tirreno-Adriatico time (8th). It is important. It even largely confirms this and it bodes well for the future. The objective of this week in the Tour of the Basque Country remains to achieve a good general classification. With the entire ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team, we will see it day by day, striving to do things well. For that, we are not going to put pressure on ourselves and above all take advantage of the opportunities that will present themselves with Kévin or with Clément Champoussin, who will be our two reference runners throughout the week.
