2nd last year on the Mur de Huy, Kévin Vauquelin returns to the Flèche Wallonne with ambitions.

I'll be racing the Flèche Wallonne for the second time in my career, a very typical classic with that mythical finish at the top of the Mur de Huy. Last year, I managed a fine second place in very special weather conditions. Now, given the field announced for the start of this event, the aim is to make a fine top 10, and to fight with the experience we have on such a finish, and see what's possible. At Liège Bastogne Liège, a new difficulty makes its appearance in the finale of the “Doyenne” of classics, and this will inevitably have an impact on the difficulty of the course. I'm going to this Monument with ambition, the desire to do well and with the aim of getting a good result and showing myself at the front.

The watchwords for the Flèche Wallonne and Liège Bastogne Liège are 1: ambition, and 2: ambition! I expect this from the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team riders who will be competing in these two Ardennes classics, and especially from Kévin Vauquelin. As we've seen in the Flanders classics, whether at the Tour of Flanders or Paris-Roubaix, the riders who didn't hesitate to go forward and take the initiative in the breakaway managed to finish in the top ten of these Monuments. We owe it to ourselves to give ourselves the right to dream, and above all not to forbid ourselves from doing so. So I say to my riders: dream, guys! We can do it too, because that's what cycling is all about. That goes for the Flèche Wallonne as much as for Liège Bastogne Liège. And the whole group can afford to dream. We've got some great things to do in these two Ardennes classics, and let's not hold anything back.
