At the end of the 3rd stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné in Les Estables, Mathis Le Berre retained the jersey of best climber. Clément Champoussin finished 8th as on Monday.

The aim on this third stage was to stay with the peloton in order to “recover” as much as possible from the efforts made during the first two days spent at the front of the race. I managed to pick up another point, but you never know what's going to happen next. Tomorrow I'll be racing an individual time trial in the best climber jersey from the Critérium du Dauphiné, which will be a great moment for a young rider like me. It's also already a given that I'll have it at the start of Thursday's stage in Amplepuis.

I've finished eighth in two stages in the Critérium du Dauphiné in the space of two days, which is pretty good. I was a bit locked in, and badly placed in the last kilometre, which no doubt deprived me of an even better result. It's a shame. The last two days of racing have been difficult, but it's not the same as this weekend with the high mountains. The first real test will be on Friday.

Mathis kept his jersey on Tuesday at the end of the third stage of the Criterium du Dauphiné. He managed to score another point today in the best climber classification. Clément Champoussin was again eighth in the stage. He arrived very quickly from behind. He was a long way off when he started his sprint, and wasn't well placed at the kilometre mark because he was a bit locked in. As we saw, he had the means to do better than this place. The important thing is that he proves that he can walk well and that he has good legs. Cristián Rodríguez is also in the running for the overall classification. Wednesday will be a time trial and then we'll switch to the second part of this Dauphiné, with the mountain stages in the background.
