Nicolas Milesi 12th in the inaugural time trial

Launched by an individual time trial, the ZLM Tour saw Nicolas Milesi place 12th in Westkapelle.

This time trial was my first of the season, but also the very first that I competed in as a professional. I placed 12th, and this allows me to gauge myself against the other runners. The course was not one of my favorites, because it was very technical from halfway through the race. I got off to a good start, and at the end when I had to push the watts, I felt good. But on the technical part I made a small mistake. I was aiming for a top 10 finish. This 12th position allows me to now be classified overall, which could be a good thing in view of the steps to follow.

Nicolas Milesi and Baptiste Gillet finished in the top 20 of this class 1 event, which was the initial objective. Also note the good performance of David Dekker who is among the best sprinters in the race. This kicks off these 5 days of competition in a good way.
