Arnaud Démare returns to racing after Tour de France

The Tour of Leuven was the first race in red and black for Arnaud Démare in 2023. He will contest the event again this season.

I did a two-week course in the mountains. Last year's Tour of Leuven was my very first race in the red and black colours, and what's more I was discovering this event. I'll be racing it for the second time this year, and it evokes some nice memories for me. Unlike 2023, I'm arriving there with a Grand Tour in my legs, which will inevitably be different. This will be my first race back, so I'll also be getting back into the rhythm of competition. I've worked well in training, so now we'll have to see how I feel in the race for this first post-Tour de France race.

The Tour of Leuven has the potential to crown a sprinter, but it will be a small-scale affair, as the race is contested on a course that takes in a fair number of climbs, including part of the circuit that hosted the 2021 Road World Championships, so you can expect a fast-paced race. Team ARKEA-B&B HOTELS will have a strong line-up for this Belgian semi-classic, with the likes of Jenthe Biermans, Arnaud Démare and Dan McLay returning to racing after the Tour de France. We can also count on the presence of three riders from the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS Développement team: Florian Dauphin, recent winner of the Kreiz Breizh Elites, Baptiste Gillet and Louis Rouland.
