Victor Guernalec signs for ARKEA-B&B HOTELS

One of the top amateur riders of the 2024 season, Victor Guernalec has signed up for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team for the coming season. Here are the details.

What does this move to the World Tour with the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team mean to you, Victor?

Victor Guernalec: ‘It's a dream for me, because I'm from Brittany, to sign up with a team from my home region and one that's competing at UCI World Tour level. It's a very powerful feeling. My brother, Thibault, has been a professional with the team since 2018. I've been following Emmanuel Hubert's team since 2010. I used to go and see it when it raced at Châteaulin. I've seen the team evolve over the years, and when I was younger I was part of the team's training cycle. In fact, everything links me to ARKEA-B&B HOTELS. And this winter I was given the opportunity to join the team.

What are your ambitions for 2025?

VG: ‘For the team to shine, for us all to achieve as many victories as possible under the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS jersey. And if I'm given a card on certain occasions, it will be to seize it. I want to discover the professional level and the best UCI World Tour races. I know it's a tall order, but I'm motivated and I'm going to do everything I can to live up to the expectations that the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will have of me.

How do you feel about racing with your brother, Thibault?

V.G: ‘It's also a dream to be able to race with my brother Thibault, which hasn't happened to us that many times in our careers. I don't have too many points of reference with him in the race. It's going to be cool, but it'll also be up to us to do our share of the work. Because we'll be brothers and colleagues at the same time, it's bound to be a special relationship. But I can't wait to experience that kind of emotion. I'll also be reunited with Louis Rouland, who is my training partner at Aix-les-Bains, as well as Ewen Costiou and Mathis Le Berre, with whom I raced under the same jersey in the amateur ranks.
