Valentina Cavallar 7th at the Alpe d'Huez, Lotte Claes 16th in the GC

Valentina Cavallar, who has been riding professionally since April 2024, took a fine 7th place in Alpe d'Huez on the final stage of the Tour de France Femmes.

Lotte Claes is 16th overall.

I made the most of this final stage of the Tour de France Femmes. My team-mates from the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team did a great job positioning and protecting Lotte and me at the foot of the Col du Glandon. I tried everything on the final stretch of the Glandon to be in a good position before the descent. Unfortunately, my legs were very tired on the legendary climb to Alpe d'Huez, and I couldn't keep up with the leaders. All in all, I'm really pleased with today's result and above all with the performance of the whole ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team in the Tour de France!

It was a Tour de France full of promise for the future. The race got off to a good start in Rotterdam for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, with Emilia Fahlin taking 8th place. Every rider in the team tried to go on the offensive throughout the stages, like Michaela Drummond - who was not spared by bad luck - and Maaike Coljé. Amandine Fouquenet was on hand to help the sprinters in the first few days, then was on hand to help the climbers afterwards. Maeva Squiban put in a very strong performance on Saturday, finishing 2nd in Le Grand Bornand. Valentina Cavallar finished 7th in the queen stage, attacking on the Glandon, while Lotte Claes was 16th overall. The seven riders in the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team made it to the finish in Alpe d'Huez - a feat achieved by very few teams. We finished 5th in the team classification, which shows that there was a great collective spirit throughout the week between the riders and staff, which enabled us to achieve this great Tour de France.

The Tour de France Femmes 2024 was a great success for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team. Our sporting strategy of concentrating on one stage after another enabled us to put in some fine performances, which were achieved boldly. In the Netherlands, the team's first top ten finish was achieved by Emilia Fahlin, followed by Maeva Squiban's fine 2nd place in Le Grand Bornand, and this Sunday's 7th place at the top of Alpe d'Huez by the promising newcomer Valentina Cavallar. And let's not forget Lotte Claes' 16th place in the final overall classification of this Tour de France Femmes 2024. All the riders selected for the Tour - Maaike Coljé, Michaela Drummond and Amandine Fouquenet - performed to perfection, and they all deserve credit for this fine overall performance, not forgetting the staff, who were also faultless. The ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team, which was a guest on the Tour for the 3rd time, and the riders were on the offensive every day. The aim is to continue to break new ground, as the UCI World Tour men's team has done since its creation. The strength of Emmanuel Hubert's teams is the feeling of belonging to one big family of men and women. This mix is our strength. Sport is a world of exchange and sharing, and between the World Tour and the women, over and above this strong desire for gender diversity, I would add that there is a great desire to work together.
