Having escaped for most of the inaugural stage of the Tour du Limousin, Louis Barré is now 3rd overall. Clément Venturini takes 5th place in Auzances.

There was a nervous sprint in the final of the first stage of the Tour du Limousin in Auzances on Tuesday. There was a lot of friction and I had to fight to keep my place. It cost me a lot of energy, but despite everything, the feeling is there. I finished 5th, which is a good result given the tension in the final.

The idea was to get into the breakaway to take the bonuses, which I managed to do in the second sprint that handed out bonuses during this first stage of the Tour du Limousin. After that, we never imagined that there would be so many strong riders up front. The gap was never more than a minute. I'm well placed this evening in the provisional general classification of the Tour du Limousin. My objective with the team is to put in a good performance overall. I'm going to do everything I can to achieve it.

The aim was to place a rider in the breakaway. Louis Barré had the opportunity to do just that. He found himself in a group of eight, mainly made up of strong riders. He also managed to gain a few bonus seconds, which could prove invaluable at the end of the week. In the sprint, Clément Venturini was well placed at the start of the final, but he was heckled. He had to fight to keep his place, and was even forced to brake. This undoubtedly cost him in the final sprint. He still managed to finish 5th.
